Spring, a time of new beginnings, flowers, showers, and this April, the 20 year anniversary of Walt Weber at O’Daniel Mazda. A classic professional, Walt was a busy man to track down, but we were able to speak with him on the phone to check in on his two decades in review.
Actually, Walt’s history with the O’Daniel Group began in the spring of ’87. It would almost be his thirtieth year anniversary, if not for the brief nine month stint where he worked in North Carolina as a NASCAR fabricator.
One of the biggest differences from when he started? Well, he wasn’t a parts manager like he is today! Walt’s foray into management began in 1998. In fact, that year holds the most memorable day at work for Walt: when he was accepted into management. He’d put a lot of work into it, and held the position on a trial basis for a while before he securing the job for sure.
However, we’re not sure there was ever any question. Walt is a solid, through and through “car guy,” and “very detail oriented.” He’s always been in the car industry, getting started in 1974. He likes being around cars, and the fact that there’s something new every day—“there’s always new innovations.”
Working for O’Daniel Mazda Automart as the parts manager, Walt interacts with customers, and orders parts. He’s a hard worker, and “dedicated to looking out for everyone’s best interests.”
Originally from Illinois, Walt enjoys spending time with his grandkids and fishing.
Congratulations on twenty years with O’Daniel’s, Walt! And to many more!
