In February, Mazda North American Operations announced “Oneness,” the first advertising spot in the design series that presented the all-new MX-5 Miata RF. This debut advertisement featured the Mazda MX-5 Miata RF designer, Masanori Minamisawa, showcasing his personal connection with Mazda consumers and designing cars.
“This new series of advertising spots allow us to highlight the real-life people that put their heart and soul into designing vehicles for the wants and needs of our customers.” said Russell Wager, vice president of marketing at MNAO.
The goal of this advertisement was to grab drivers’ attention by capturing a real person, rather than hiring actors to give the ad a more authentic touch. Mazda wanted to reveal the Takumi Masters point of view of crafting the exterior part of Mazdas.
Minamisawa relates Mazda drivers to his passion for music while designing the exterior for cars. He says that he gets the same joyful experience listening to music while crafting, as drivers do driving.
This commercial debuted on the main television, sports, and cable stations through the end of March. Some movie theaters showed the advertisement as well.
