The Mazda6 has done it again by being one of four repeat winners to win the New York Daily News automotive award for the second year in a row. All 2017 model year vehicles with a base price less than $100,000 that were released before February 1, 2017, were considered. This 2017 Mazda6, “seamlessly blends the needs of a family with the wants of drivers who crave driving a truly satisfying car.” With high safety scores from IIHS and NHTSA along with being fuel efficient due to SKYACTIV Technology, it’s no wonder the Mazda6 was named the winner.
Starting with an MSRP of just $21,945 the 2017 Mazda6 is a car to be noticed. Boasting an upscale interior with KODO-Soul of Motion design and driving abilities that can compare to a sports sedan than other midsize cars in its class. A sleek profile and a stylish grille, the distinct look alone make it stand out from its peers. This model also features G-Vectoring Control, which uses the engine as well as the steering to give drivers a better experience overall. Sound absorption materials are throughout the interior. The premium package includes piped Nappa leather seating and a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel and rear seat.
Christian Wardlaw, the Daily News Autos Editor, said, “In each category, these awards reflect the best choices for consumers based on practical considerations and our experience driving them.” The goal, he went on to say, was to provide buyers with a smart, practical, enjoyable and emotionally appealing choice while also rewarding the automaker's efforts in value, innovation, design, and dynamism. In the press release from Daily News, they stated, “We believe the Mazda6 is not only the best family car you can buy in 2017 but also the standard bearer other automakers should try to emulate.” Congratulations to Mazda for winning yet another outstanding award.
