In its newer generation of vehicles, the team at Mazda has started to use a design philosophy named Kodo, which takes inspiration from the predators in nature. With the 2017 CX-3 it’s no different, using clean lines and powerful curves to emulate a fierce character, the CX-3 embodies a predator in motion.
With its bigger brother the CX-5 considered the standard in its segment, the CX-3 comes from a lineage of high performers and still manages to create a buzz of its own among its competition. Most recently it has been crowned "Best Crossover of the Year” by the Chicago News, winning the title over four other vehicles.

Rolling with the signature SKYACTIV-G 2.0 liter engine that pushes 146 horses, a 6-speed automatic transmission with manual shift and a sport mode, this year’s CX-3 provides the smooth handling and superb agility that the Mazda family is known for. Also available in FWD and i-ACTIV AWD packages, these get an average of 29 and 31 mpg respectively.
Acknowledged for its remarkable mixture of premium features, efficiency, and value the CX-3 carries the Mazda flag well. With senior VP of Special Assignments, Robert Davis, accepting the award at the 2017 Chicago Auto Show he commented, “We’re thrilled that the 2017 CX-3 was named Best Crossover of the Year by Chicago News, as it’s a perfect vehicle for on-the-go Chicagoans who desire the ruggedness of a crossover SUV in a smaller, more efficient package for the urban jungle.”
