Fifteen years goes fast when you’re Nick Rusk. He thrives in the fast paced environment of the dealership, and this month marks a decade and a half on the O’Daniel Automotive Group team. “I also enjoy the daily interaction with new customers, and I enjoy seeing customers’ faces light up when I have helped them successfully find the perfect vehicle.” Nick went on to tell us that the key to his success is building a strong team around himself: “The team atmosphere is vital. I’m proud of our team and our accomplishments.”
Nick told us that the most memorable day on the job for him was when he became promoted to management. He loved the fact that he had the chance to advance his career within the O’Daniel organization. Nick also explained that his brother had played an influential role in his life. “He’s had a very successful career, and he’s helped guide me in the decisions I’ve made in my career path.” The support and opportunities have all led to Nick becoming a hardworking man, having strong leadership skills, as well as being a valuable team player.
In his free time, you will find Nick playing golf or basketball as well as spending time with his wife and kids—maybe even enjoying the TV show Goldrush. He has been a part of the Fort Wayne community since 1999 and is originally from Royal Center, Indiana. Before working at O’Daniel Mazda, Nick worked in sales at Sears. When a salesman at O’Daniel convinced Nick to apply, he was given the job and has been able to grow. “I’ve stayed because O’Daniel treats their employees the same as their customers: like family.”
