Anyone anticipating a new crossover from Mazda can expect to be amazed — and the 2017 Mazda CX-3 doesn’t disappoint. This fun crossover has been praised for its beautiful interior, all-wheel drive, alluring exterior, sportiness, outstanding build quality, available collision-avoidance system, and excellent fuel economy. For 2017, the CX-3 has received a few changes of note.

Roll up in style with the Touring trim's new 18-inch wheels. Previously, these wheels came only with Grand Touring trim. Mazda has also lowered the price of its i-ACTIVESENSE package.

The CX-3 has been given a score of 8.4 out of 10 in the Subcompact SUV category by the U.S. News and World Report. It was a finalist on USN and WR’s list of best cars for the money in 2017. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety considers it a Top Safety Pick+, and The National Highway Safety Administration has also awarded the CX-3 with a five-star rating.

Trim levels for the CX-3 are Sport, Touring, and Grand Touring. Every trim has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, front-wheel drive, and a six-speed automatic transmission.

Sport, the base CX-3, boasts an infotainment system, a six-speaker audio system, a USB port, HD radio, voice-command activation, push-button start, Bluetooth, and a rearview camera. Optional features for this trim are remote ignition and rear parking sensors.

The Touring trim adds leatherette-trimmed seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, heated front seats, blind sport monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, and proximity key entry. Optional features that come with this trim are a satellite radio, a Bose seven-speaker sound system, and a moonroof.

Finally, the Grand Touring trim has leather and suede seats, auto-leveling and adaptive LED headlights, automatic climate control, a moonroof, paddle shifters, satellite radio, navigation, a heap-up display, and a Bose seven-speaker sound system. This trim also has an additional i-Activsense package that contains driver assistance and advanced safety technologies. These technologies include forward collision warning, low-speed automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high beams that turn off when the vehicle is near another vehicle or in a more brightly lit area.

If you’re looking for a truly exciting crossover to own, be sure to consider the 2017 Mazda CX-3.
