2018 marks Mazda’s third consecutive year winning the award.

Mazda won the car class category due to the strength of the Mazda3, Mazda6 and Mazda MX-5 Miata, one of the best-selling sports cars in automotive history, according to the U.S. News & World Report website.

“All three models have top-notch performance that puts an emphasis on direct, sporty handling, as well as quality interiors that are more upscale than their price tags might suggest,” said Jamie Page Deaton, managing editor of U.S. News Best Cars.

As cars, trucks, and SUVs are sold by over 35 brands in the United States, the U.S. News & World Report recognizes that choosing the perfect vehicle can be stressful for consumers. The purpose of the Best Vehicle Brand Awards is to highlight the brands that excel in the areas that matter most to customers.

Areas of Mazda’s lineup that received the most praise by U.S. News & World Report included the engaging driving dynamics, appealing cabin designs, easy-to-use technology, and accommodating seating.

Because the awards are a completely objective assessment of quality, consumers can trust that Mazda will provide them with an enjoyable driving experience.

Automotive press, safety scores, and reliability data were all taken into consideration in the ranking of the cars which came directly from the U.S. News Best Cars rankings. These scores were then averaged and as the brand with the highest overall score, Mazda was named the winner.

“Every car in Mazda’s lineup has elegant KODO design and advanced safety technology to give the driver more confidence behind the wheel,” according to Mazda’s website. “Meticulously engineered and artfully crafted, Mazda’s lineup of award-winning cars are a study in what happens when an automaker obsesses over the minute details, constantly seeking to redefine the industry’s standard of excellence.”
