In the 2020 Top Safety Pick+ Awards, Mazda earned more awards than any other automaker. The Mazda3 Sedan and Hatchback, Mazda6, CX-3, and CX-5 vehicles have been awarded Top Safety Pick+ awards. Moreover, the CX-9 crossover set the standard on headlights after it was recognized as Top Safety Pick for 2020 Model Year. Mazda earned good ratings in the six crashworthiness evaluations conducted. The vehicles were also tested on front crash prevention in both vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian and earned advanced or superior ratings.

What stood out, even more, is Mazda’s i-Activsense which covers a series of advanced safety technologies such as Advanced Smart City Brake Support with Pedestrian Detection, Smart Brake Support with Collision Warning, Radar Cruise Control with Stop & Go Function, Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning System with Lane-Keep Assist, Driver Attention Alert, High Beam Control, Adaptive Front-Lighting System, and Traffic Sign Recognition.

These safety features use detection sensors such as quasi-milliwave radar and cameras. These tools help drivers determine potential hazards. The pre-crash technologies will also help avert collisions or minimize their severity in situations and cases where they cannot be prevented.
