The Mazda CX-30 is Mazda's smallest vehicle in its SUV lineup—but don't let its size fool you. The compact SUV has the comfort and stately feel of a larger car, but still keeps the agility and excitement that drivers love about the Japanese manufacturer.
The CX-30 resembles a taller version of the Mazda 3 with its elegantly styled exterior and clean, stylish lines. New this year, Mazda has released a new Carbon edition, adding a crisp Polymetal Grey paint and black 18-inch wheels. This premium exterior styling is matched by an equally luxurious interior cabin. Handsome leather seats are complemented by available heated front seats. The infotainment display is controlled by a central rotary knob. From there, the passengers can control an 8 or 12 speaker system. The CX-30 has Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration and SiriusXM satellite radio capability, as well as standard Bluetooth, Wi-Fi hotspot capability, and front USB inputs. A power-operated liftgate is also available, complemented by the spacious interior cargo section of the CX-30; six carry-on bags can fit in the rear trunk. The storage area is also modular, allowing the driver to take down the rear seats to create more storage space.
The agile performance is nothing to sneeze at, either. Coming in hot, the standard engine for the CX-30 is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 186 horsepower perfectly paired with a peppy six-speed automatic that is able to choose gears wisely based on driving conditions. A turbocharged 2.5-liter engine is optional and provides 250 horsepower. Similar to the Mazda 3, the CX-30 continues to be agile and fun to drive. Even on twisty roads, the SUV provides the driver with stability and control. New this year, all CX-30 models have all-wheel drive standard.
The CX-30 is also as safe as they come. Having been granted a five star crash rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, drivers can rest easy knowing that they have the best protection in their car. Overall, the CX-30 is a car that punches well above its price in comfort, performance, and technology.
