The 2023 model of the Mazda MX-30 SUV was recently announced to have received a 5 star Overall Vehicle Score from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) New Car Assessment Program (NCAP). The Japanese manufacturer's all-electric vehicle, the MX-30 also received 5 star ratings in side and frontal crash tests. The car features freestyle, rear hinged doors that increase side crash safety, while also increasing accessibility for strollers, wheelchairs, and loading and unloading cargo.
This attention to detail is present throughout the vehicle. The comfortable interior cabin features fabric seats that are made from recycled plastic bottles, a sustainable cork-lined dashboard, and adjustable rear seats that allow drivers to create more space for cargo when needed. Heated front seats, a powered sunroof, and auto-dimming rearview mirrors, which all come as standard on the MX-30, can be controlled in a convenient 7.0 inch digital center console. Seats are also highly adjustable, including powered lumbar support, eight-way adjustability, and seat-position memory. In addition to the vehicle control console, a 8.8 inch digital display controls the car's infotainment systems. This includes connectivity with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The interior also sports several outlets, allowing passengers to stay connected at all times.
This same exacting design also extends to the car's performance. Mazda's G-Vectoring Control Plus system senses when a vehicle will turn, and adjusts its torque and each wheel's power load in order to maintain stability throughout a turn. All of this results in a more comfortable and efficient driving experience. In an electric vehicle, this system's benefits are heightened, allowing the MX-30 to glide through corners and easily handle poor road conditions.
Performance of the MX-30 is also customizable. The car's regenerative braking, which slows battery usage, can be customized via paddles on the steering wheel. This way, drivers wanting a one-pedal experience where regenerative braking slows the car without use of the brakes can do so, while also leaving the option for drivers who prefer a more traditional driving experience to control all aspects of the vehicle's performance. Overall, from excellent safety to customizable and comfortable interiors, the Mazda MX-30 is designed with the driver's needs at the forefront.
