In a demonstration of its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts, Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) has teamed up with its eight Employee Business Resource Groups (EBRGs) to launch a giving program totaling $320,000. These funds will support 27 nonprofits across the United States, amplifying Mazda's efforts to foster a culture of inclusion and belonging while giving back to the communities where its employees live and work.

Tom Donnelly, President and CEO of Mazda North American Operations, expressed pride in the initiatives spearheaded by the EBRGs, emphasizing their role in cultivating a culture that values diversity and builds meaningful connections. He highlighted the importance of these donations and volunteer opportunities in reinforcing Mazda's core values and strengthening the MNAO community.

The recipients of Mazda's philanthropic support encompass a diverse range of organizations, including educational institutions like Alabama A&M University and Hampton University, community-focused groups like Boys and Girls Club of Patterson and Passaic and Girls Inc of Orange County, and advocacy organizations such as GLSEN and the Southern Poverty Law Center. Such eminent organizations do the important work of advancing an equitable society in which we are all free to pursue our passions and needs.

Mazda's EBRGs play a pivotal role in driving these efforts forward. These groups, which include the African American Business Network, Asian & Pacific Islanders, Christian Faith, PRIDE at Mazda, Todos Unidos!, VET+, Women in Leadership, and Women of Color +, actively promote diversity and inclusion within the company. They organize volunteer activities, host networking events, and provide training to raise awareness about unconscious biases.

Each EBRG selected nonprofits aligned with its mission and MNAO's DEI goals, ensuring that the donations make a meaningful impact in areas important to the company and its employees. Moreover, Mazda's commitment extends beyond financial support, as each recipient organization is eligible for MNAO's employee matching gift program, further encouraging employee engagement and support for these causes.

By leveraging its resources and partnering with its employees through the EBRGs, Mazda exemplifies how businesses can integrate philanthropy into their DEI initiatives, creating a more inclusive workplace and contributing positively to the broader community.
