Mazda is taking another exciting step toward improving driver safety through a new partnership with AAA and HAAS Alert. Announced in August 2026, the collaboration introduces real-time digital alerts designed to warn approaching motorists when a Mazda driver has requested roadside assistance.
The innovative system combines AAA’s Roadside Assistance Program with HAAS Alert’s Safety Cloud Protect technology. When an eligible Mazda customer requests assistance through the MyMazda app or a toll-free phone call, a local AAA-affiliated service provider is dispatched. Simultaneously, approaching drivers in supported markets may receive digital warnings through compatible connected vehicle or mobile navigation applications.
These notifications encourage motorists to slow down and move over before reaching a disabled vehicle. By providing advance warning, the technology aims to reduce the risk of secondary collisions while protecting stranded drivers, passengers and roadside assistance personnel. The alerts reach compatible vehicles and navigation applications, meaning motorists do not necessarily need to own a Mazda to benefit from the partnership.
For Mazda, the initiative represents an extension of its established safety philosophy. While traditional safety technologies focus on preventing collisions and protecting occupants, this collaboration addresses the vulnerable moments that follow an unexpected roadside emergency. By extending protection beyond the vehicle itself, Mazda is addressing an important safety concern: the dangers motorists face when stranded along busy roads.
AAA brings its roadside assistance network to the collaboration, while HAAS Alert provides the connected technology responsible for distributing digital warnings. Its Safety Cloud platform delivers hazard notifications through compatible vehicle dashboards, navigation applications and smartphones, helping drivers recognize potential dangers before encountering them.
The new feature is currently available for all eligible Mazda vehicles equipped with 24/7 emergency roadside assistance. However, receiving warnings depends on compatible technology and availability in supported markets.
As automotive safety continues to evolve, Mazda’s latest partnership demonstrated how connected technology can help protect motorists beyond their own vehicles. By combining roadside assistance with real-time communication, Mazda, AAA and HAAS Alert are working toward safer experiences for everyone sharing the road.
