2017 marks the 4th annual Mazda Drive for Good event and this year’s fundraiser is one for the record books. Recently, Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) announced that it would donate over $5.4 million to charity and pledge 67,500 hours of service, all thanks to their loyal drivers.
The program aims to match the amount of hours test driven in Mazda vehicles from November to January with a whole hour of service in their drivers’ community. The company took their philanthropy to the next level, donating $150 for every Mazda bought or leased.
From the Boys & Girls Club to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Mazda gives back to those in need from all walks of life by giving to over 45 various charities on a local and national level. To date, the initiative has raised almost $16 million and gave more than 260,000 hours of service. Engaging employees and dealers in service brings them closer to the community and focuses Mazda on remaining committed to giving back.
Mazda prides themselves in their engagement in philanthropy and giving back to communities, believing that it is an essential building block of their company. Now they’re inviting their drivers to be a part of the spirit of giving.
“Being an active member in the community is an important aspect of who we are as a company and what the Mazda Drive for Good program stands for.” — Masahiro Moro, President & CEO of MNAO
