Ford, Mazda, Look to Help Community After Kentucky Floods
Read MoreEarlier this year, much of the southern and central United States was hit by historic flooding. Lasting for more than a week between late July and early August, states including Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia, Illinois, and Mississippi were hit with more than 10 inches of rain in short periods. This downpour proved deadly, as more than 40 lives were taken as a result of the flooding. Kentucky, in particular, was hit especially hard, with 38 deaths occurring there alone.

Mazda Foundation Expands Beyond its Vehicles to Support Underserved Populations in America

This year alone, the foundation distributed $495,000 across 11 organizations via its annual grant giving process. According to Tamara Mlynarczyk, president and public affairs manager of the Mazda Foundation, “We hope that we can play a small role in helping people across the country reach their full potential and find financial security,” as the foundation is seeking to expand its role in securing employment for Americans amidst a rapidly evolving economy and lots of uncertainty.

At the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show, Mazda Motor Corporation debuted its first mass-production battery electric vehicle (EV)— the Mazda MX-30. The Tokyo Motor Show was first held in 1954, and the 2019 year will mark the 46th show to be held. This year, the general public had a greater opportunity to visit the venue since the show was open for a longer period.
