The Mazda6 has done it again by being one of four repeat winners to win the New York Daily News automotive award for the second year in a row. Congratulations are in order for Eric Smith, who is celebrating five years with O’Daniel Mazda. Eric moved to Fort Wayne thirteen years ago and attended Bishop Dwenger High School. After graduating from Lincoln College of Technology in Indianapolis, Eric moved back and started working at O’Daniel Automotive Group in July of 2012.

It has been recently announced that the 2017 CX-9 has won Ward’s 10 Best Interiors award and Autotrader’s “Must Test Drive” award. Fresh off of winning a spot on Wards 10 Best Engines Award a few months ago for its SKYACTIV-G 2.5T engine, these additional recognitions come as no surprise to the groundbreaking company. 

Mazda in is the spotlight again with the 2017 Mazda6 and Mazda MX-5 Miata RF both earning 2017 Popular Mechanics Automotive Excellence Awards. Each of these cars has reasons of their own for standing out among others in their class.

In February, Mazda North American Operations announced “Oneness,” the first advertising spot in the design series that presented the all-new MX-5 Miata RF. This debut advertisement featured the Mazda MX-5 Miata RF designer, Masanori Minamisawa, showcasing his personal connection with Mazda consumers and designing cars.

The exterior of the car is pleasing to the eye with its 18-inch alloy wheels—however, it’s not just pretty, it’s safe with safety features outfitted on every corner of the vehicle. With new features like automatic and adaptive high beams, rear cross traffic alert, smart brake support, and adaptive cruise control just to name a few—this Mazda pulls in with a 9.7/10 safety rating, according to US News & World Report.
